Changing Majors During STAR
Beginning on May 6, admitted students who want to request a change of major should contact the academic advising office for the college they are currently admitted to. An academic advisor will help facilitate the change. The change major form in the Purdue application portal will not be available after May 1.
Any 2020 Summer and Fall New Beginner student who has a desire to change their major between now and May 1 should do that in the Purdue Application Portal (not myPurdue). The form to request a change of major can be found under the Profile and Application Changes tab in the portal. Students can request to change their major two times using this form; if they’re not able to access the form, it’s possible they’ve used up their two requests.
If a student wants to change their major prior to and on May 1, please instruct them to use the Change Major form in the Application Portal. Admissions will work to get decisions on the change major requests complete and to students by May 8th.
After May 1 and until June 1, students who haven’t deposited can still use the change major form in the Purdue Application Portal. After May 1 and before June 1, once a student deposits, they will need to contact the academic advising office for their current college/major.
