Understanding Undergraduate Program Paths
While you apply to the exploratory studies major, you will earn a degree in the program of your choice. Through exploratory studies, a unique course schedule will be created based on your interests, including the university’s core courses, with up to four terms to declare your major. Most students who begin their Purdue career in exploratory studies maintain a four-year graduation track.
Our students explore a range of interests and career options before choosing their path, opening doors to opportunities in every field.
You should pursue the most rigorous high school curriculum available to you. Succeeding in challenging courses will make you a stronger candidate for Purdue’s competitive admission process and better prepare you for college success.
Minimum high school coursework (many applicants exceed these minimums):
- Math – 4 years
- English – 4 years
- Lab science – 3 years
- Social studies – 3 years
