Heather Newman

Heather Newman Culver, IN
Mass Communication

I’m involved in: Collegiete 4-H, Letters from Home, Dairy Club, Intermural sports, and WHHR
In my spare time, I: Hang out with my friends. We either go to sporting events, go sledding on Slayter Hill, go to the RSC, or just play video games.
Dream job: Professional broadcaster on the radio or television.
Favorite local restaurant: I love eating at Taco Bell, because it is open really late. Another favorite is XXX they have really good desserts and breakfast.
Favorite pig-out food: My favorite food is Wheat Thins. I can eat an entire box if I don’t stop myself.
Most embarrassing moment: I was running away from my friends when we were at an indoor pool. When I went to go out the door, I missed the handle bad and ended up falling on my butt in front of everyone.
Most memorable Purdue experience:I love attending the Purdue University home football games. After every point we score I get lifted up and it’s always a great time!
When I feel like spoiling myself, I: Order insomnia cookies. It’s a great pick me up when I am studying at 2 am.
Favorite book: My favorite book is actually three. I really enjoyed the three book set of “The Uglies, The Pretties, & The Specials.”
Favorite movie: I really love any action movie. I am all about the explosives. I also love any Julia Roberts movie.
Acquaintances would be surprised to know:  That I love showing cows. I truly enjoy getting up and washing cattle at 4 am and hanging out with other showman all day.
Favorite cartoon character:  I love TOM & JERRY. It’s good classic humor, what more could you ask for?
Funniest Purdue experience: I’d have to say one of the funniest things to happen to me while at Purdue is when I was walking to class after it snowed and I fell flat on my butt. I just ended up laying back and making a snow angel while my friends laughed at me.
I’m inspired by:   My family. My family has gone through a lot of things in life and we always stick together. My parents are so strong and compassionate that it makes me want to do my best at everything I do.
What's playing on my IPod: I don’t own an IPod, I don’t see a need for one, but I can’t seem to get the song “Jeramiah was a Bullfrog” out of my head.
