Purdue University Student Health
During STAR, students should drop off their Medical History Form at the Purdue University Student Health (PUSH) table which will be located across from the ID Card Office in the Purdue Memorial Union. Those students not attending STAR should take their form to PUSH after arriving on campus. Information regarding the requirements and a copy of the form are available on the PUSH website. Students who need required immunizations may receive them at PUSH for a fee, or from your family health care provider before coming to campus.
Staffed by licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health professionals, physical therapists, and a registered dietitian, PUSH specializes in the treatment of illnesses and injuries as well as preventive medical care and health education. Routine office visits to the medical clinic are free during the school year for full-time students and on a fee-for-service basis to part-time students and student spouses. Provided throughout the year, services include evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of new health concerns, and continued maintenance of established diagnoses.
All students seen at PUSH must present their insurance card at each visit. Fees are assessed for some services (extended care and after hours services, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, psychiatric consultations, immunizations, etc.) and will be charged to the student’s insurance. PUSH is Out-of-Network for all insurance plans other than the plan made available by the University. More information regarding this plan is available on the PUSH website.
International students must enroll in the Purdue-sponsored health insurance plan. Complete information regarding the plan is available on the PUSH website. Students are encouraged to enroll in the plan prior to arrival in the United States, or may enroll at PUSH when they arrive on campus. International students are also required to visit PUSH for mandatory Tuberculosis (TB) testing and verification of immunization status after completing insurance enrollment.
