College of Health and Human Sciences
Retail management prepares students for careers in merchandising, management, and/or marketing consumer goods and services in traditional retail settings and e-commerce environments. Students have the opportunity to study abroad in the retail industry or complete the fashion merchandise management program at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City during the junior year. FIT courses are applied to bachelor’s degree requirements at Purdue, and they result in an Associate of Applied Science degree upon satisfactory completion.
Job opportunities are excellent in marketing, consumer relations, advertising, market research, sales, publicity, and merchandising analysis.
