Retail management prepares students for careers in merchandising, management, and/or marketing consumer goods and services in a variety of retail settings. Students develop critical thinking communication skills that allows them to secure positions in industries and businesses such as e-commerce enterprises, major consumer product firms, and retail companies.
Points of Pride
- Students complete an internship with a major retailer in locations such as New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, and Indianapolis. During their senior year, students may also apply for a one-year program at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Upon completion of the FIT program, students receive an associates degree from FIT, and these credits transfer back to Purdue to meet requirements of Purdue’s BS degree.
- Students within the College of Health and Human Sciences can enhance their educational experience through participation in academic organizations such as the Purdue Retail Organization.
