College of Liberal Arts
Fine Arts offers concentrations in five disciplinary areas: ceramics, drawing/illustration, jewelry/metals, painting/printmaking, and textile design/fiber art. Foundational courses in the studio arts and art history prepare students for advanced courses that explore both traditional and nontraditional methods and materials. The College of Liberal Arts humanities core provides a solid grounding from which Fine Arts students learn to develop and give visual expression to their conceptual ideas.
*Portfolio review - A Fine Arts portfolio is not required to begin this major as a freshman. However, students are required to participate in a portfolio assessment in the spring of their sophomore year. The review is based on the student's work in Purdue Fine Arts courses.
