Foods and nutrition in business graduates provide a critical interface between industry and the consumer. Students take courses in management and agricultural economics, which emphasize marketing and sales in the food industry and develop critical thinking ability and a broad perspective in sales, marketing, nutrition, food science, food engineering, food regulation, supervision, and communication.

Purdue admits to individual majors. Many majors require that applicants have completed specific coursework, and all have a suggested minimum GPA. The criteria for this major are listed below. Students who meet or exceed these criteria are the most competitive candidates for admission. Also: Completion of at least one-semester of college-level chemistry or biology with a grade of C or higher.
