This program prepares students for careers in apparel design, apparel manufacturing techniques and process, textile product quality control, computer-aided design, and business. Courses in the major include art and design, apparel design, textile science, pattern design, draping, fabric design, historic costuming, apparel illustration, plant production, and marketing.
Points of Pride
- During their junior year, students may apply to attend a one-year program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Upon completion of the FIT program, students receive an associate of applied science degree from FIT, and these credits transfer back to Purdue to meet the requirements of Purdue’s B.S. degree.
- The Purdue Fashion Association presents a fashion show annually.
